Codia vs Weld

One Figma file, two builds, measured with the same checks. Codia AI turns Figma designs into code. We ran the free Positivus template’s Home frame through it, kept the page exactly as delivered, and measured it next to Weld’s build of the same frame.

Design: Positivus Landing Page Design by Olga Averchenko, CC BY 4.0. Home frame, 1440px wide.

Where it’s strong

  • Very close to the design at 1440px, the width it was drawn: font sizes match on 68 of 68 texts, and 56 of 67 gaps are within 4px.
  • The illustrations, the speech-bubble testimonials and the star pagination all come through from the design.
  • It adds no copy of its own: every word on the page is in the design.

What you get out of the box

The things a client site needs that nobody should have to add by hand afterwards. Each line is checked in the page’s own code.

How closely it follows the design

Font sizes match on 68 of 68 texts for Codia and 67 of 67 for Weld. Gaps within 4px: 56 of 67 for Codia, 65 of 66 for Weld.

Two differences we noticed by eye: the client logos are in full colour, where the design shows them in grey, and the illustration in the ‘Let’s make things happen’ panel sits off the right edge of the page.

The hero at 1440px. Drag the handle: Codia’s page on the left, the design on the right.

At other widths

The same sections on a laptop (1240px) and a phone (390px).

Codia’s page is fixed at the design’s width. On a 390px phone it scrolls 1,058px sideways, on a 1240px laptop 208px, and even at the design’s own 1440px it is 8px too wide.

There are no breakpoints in the code, no media queries and no width-based classes, so nothing changes as the screen gets smaller.

Weld’s page has no sideways scroll at any width we tested, from 320 to 1440px.

Pictures without image tags

The page has no image elements at all. Every picture is a CSS background loaded from static.codia.ai, Codia’s own server: screen readers can’t see them, there is nowhere to put alt text, and they only appear for as long as Codia keeps serving them.

Weld’s download carries its own images; nothing on the page is fetched from a vendor’s server.

Every element is a div

The page has no headings, sections, links, buttons or form, not one semantic element. To a search engine or a screen reader it is one undivided block.

Its page title, the line search results show, is “Generated by Codia AI”.

Weld’s page has 1 h1 heading, 26 h2 headings, 19 sections and 31 links.

Try Weld’s page yourself

Drag the frame’s bottom-right corner to resize it, or open the page on its own and resize your browser.
